- Game: Resident Evil: Revelations 2
- Platform: Nintendo Switch
- Developer: Capcom
- Publisher: Capcom
I used the holiday period that I’d originally intended to spend on Xenoblade Chronicles 2 trying to clear a good chunk of my backlog instead.
Between Xmas and New Year, I blasted through L.A. Noire, Resident Evil: Revelations and Oxenfree on the Switch, while Resident Evil: Revelations 2 became the first game I completed in 2018.
I absolutely adored it. A huge improvement on the decent original, both mechanically and visually (which is to be expected as the first game was merely an up-res 3DS game), while overall it felt almost like an Evil Within with a focused, enjoyable narrative.
Easily the best Resident Evil game between RE4 and RE7, and made even better with terrifically implemented motion aiming.
In short: I enjoyed playing through both Revelations games, but Revelations 2 is really superb. Has gotten me in the mood for more Resident Evil ports on the Switch. RE4 with these controls as a priority, please, Capcom.
